Mallorcan cooking is down-to-earth, aromatic and depends on the quality of its ingredients. It lives on good olive oil, fresh vegetables, pulses and the craft of local producers. You can make these three recipes at home with our Mallorcan products.

Making pa amb oli at home

A good selection if you want to bring the taste of Mallorca to your kitchen anywhere in the EU.

1. Pa amb oli — the national dish

Ingredients for 4 people

Method

Toast the bread. Rub a halved tomato over the hot bread. Pour over the olive oil. Season with salt. Serve with the olive pâté. Done — and perfect when the ingredients are right.

2. Tumbet — Mallorcan layered vegetable dish

The Mallorcan counterpart of ratatouille: layered vegetables in olive oil.

Ingredients

Method

Fry the potatoes in olive oil until golden. Build up layers with courgettes, peppers and tomatoes in a glass baking dish. Season each layer with olive oil and herb salt. Bake at 180 °C for 45 minutes. Serve lukewarm or cold.

3. Octopus salad with olive oil

A simple but impressive tapa: cooked octopus, potatoes and black olives, all dressed with a first-class EVOO.

Ingredients

Method

Mix all the ingredients, drizzle generously with Oli Verjo, and season with paprika and sea salt. Leave in the fridge for 30 minutes. The freshness of an early-harvest olive oil takes the octopus to another level.
